Over the last many many years, various artists from the 60’s & 70’s onward, and of course even the old hymn writers, composed what I call RAPTURE SONGS. They are songs that speak of an event known as The Rapture or the Harpadzo. If you have a bible or google you can read all about it at 1st Thessalonians 4 13-18 and onto Chapter 5 1-11 . It’s possibly one of the most outrageous teachings in the bible ! But there it is. And I think the day is fast approaching.

I Wanna Be Ready: The One Take Sessions Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals Cover .
There are quite a few big artists who have what I call a ‘Rapture’ song and Ben Harper is one. Bob Dylan famously has a few, also Daniel Lanois. I’ll be getting around to all of them in the coming weeks, being that it’s high Rapture watch season. And I also have one of my own soon to be released. When he says ‘ I wanna be ready ‘ do you know what he’s talking about ? The Rapture . The last trumpet sounds and Jesus meets those who are separated to him, actively waiting and watching , in the air, at the 1/2 way mark, in the clouds. Outrageous right ! I mean it’d have to be one of the most fantastical biblical teachings and yet , there it is. People have been waiting for this for decades. We are told that no man knows the day or the hour – just be ready. When you see the Signs of The Times, look up ! People may wonder , are we in the last days? Others say, this has been going on forever, He’s not coming back , not now, not ever. But look around you . What do you see? If I had to deal with the news headlines without an intimate knowledge of bible prophecy and the matchless unbroken companionship that is my walk with Jesus, I’d be out of my mind with fear. Even non believers are starting to think He’s coming back ! I watched people crying at the sky today ,’ having a spiritual experience’, they said , and I believe them, moved to tears at the solar eclipse. They were in awe of ‘the coincidence that the sun , moon and earth are just the right size and distance and tilt, where such a thing could occur’. I heard news reporters say, we don’t often think about our place in the universe and the sun and moon’s effect on earth and the seasons, as if all this precision and seasonal rhythm is some big free for all spin of the cosmic chocolate wheel. Nope – no coincidence. No per chances. I think of the sky as both God’s canvas and memo pad. He blasts us with awe inspiring beauty and writes notes that can be read by the heart of every man , woman and child, regardless of their beliefs. No other creature looks at he sky in awe. Only mankind. Are you ready ?
