He was the PROPERTY OF JESUS
Many people hadn’t heard of Charlie Kirk until he was cut down in public, in the prime of his life , at just 31 years old. That his wife and children were present , made it all the more horrific. With approximately 4000 students on campus at the event and an audience of untold millions online – it was a modern day execution.
Charlie was a martyr – for his faith and his convictions. A political person , he held no office. He went from campus to campus, giving young people a voice – people who agreed with him and people who did not . Undeniably, the foundation of his life and work was the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That’s what gave him his backbone, his strength, his courage. He was what the bible calls , ‘flint faced’.

His faith may have informed his values and life choices but he never expected it to inform other people’s choices. He was happy to debate anyone on any topic purely from a standpoint of common sense , the law as it stood and western values – which happen to be Judeo Christian values. If there was a law or opinion he didn’t agree with , he turned to science and already observed outcomes , to make his point. He didn’t speak down to people because they were different to him or thought differently – he just wanted to talk. Why ? Because as he said – “When people stop talking, that’s when things turn violent” And he didn’t think he was better than anyone else. He said it over and over – “I’m a sinner – saved by grace”.
What became apparent after his assassination , was that many people did know who Charlie Kirk was, not just in America, but world wide. The outpouring of grief , shock, ridicule, shock at the ridicule, was a heady mix. As Douglas Murray has so eloquently said, ” Every now and again a flare goes up and let’s us all know where everyone stands”.
Charlie’s courage for his faith in Jesus & the clearly outlined Gospel of the Cross that he stood for, has now been preached around the globe on repeat through re-runs of his clips and most poignantly at his memorial service, made crystal clear , live streamed and replayed.

Who could have imagined that the death of this young man would have had the impact that it has. Something spiritual definitely took a hold as we saw video after video of people in tears, not sure why they were crying over someone they had never met – for some, over someone they were just finding out about – it didn’t seem to matter – they were moved , and moved enough to film themselves , and let it be known that they were looking for whatever Charlie had.
Other people filmed themselves, happy, gleeful – the voice they loathed was gone. Or so they thought.
People have gone back to church, lots of them; others for the 1st time . Some people have left their churches of 10 years or more , because the Pastor refused to speak of it. Vigils were held world wide. Vigils were desecrated. People came to faith. Some people lost their jobs. Bible sales are up and people are opening up the bibles they already had. What a time to be alive.
In remembering his friend Charlie Kirk Dennis Prager said , ” There’s a saying among the timber workers of Oregon – You never know the height of a tree until it falls .” The world lost a tall tree , with deep roots and big branches.
Charlie’s life and the loss of it, will be felt for some time yet I imagine. This one is for you Charlie.
THE PROPERTY OF JESUS
What is the Gospel Of Jesus Christ?
A – Accept that you are a sinner … that’s easy enough.
B – Believe that he died in your place , for your sin and God raised him to life again just like it says in the scriptures.
C – Call on the name. The Name of Jesus – the name above all names. Ask him into your heart.
Gospel = Good News
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
John 1:12–13
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
1 John : 1 v 7
But if we walk in the light, just as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
