The gospel classic
I first heard this gospel classic on Aretha Franklin’s famous gospel Album, One Faith One Lord One Baptism . She ‘sang ‘ thru out the introduction , how she loved to ‘hear the Gospel Harmonettes when they’d ring out singing this next song ‘ .
And then came the thumping left handed piano entry…enough to get you going !! .
I sang this song live for many years with my own Gospel Quartet, ‘Full Body Message’.
So after a good 4 hours in the studio this evening laying down vocal tracks I had a nice bit of natural distortion on my vocal cords that was just begging for a good ol’ gospel song.
And the fact that the piano part was already layed down made this an obvious choice . I hope you enjoy SURELY
